| The Cloak makes its stage debut..
Those who were at the Eurovision Song Contest when River Dance made its debut knew they were witnessing the birth of something special. Those who saw premier of 'The Cloak' in September 2013 will be able to say the same in years to come. It is a stunning, spectacular production told through music and dance telling the story of St Brigid, patron saint of Kildare and her mother Broicsech.
The story set in AD 480, tells of Brigid's destiny to become an Iconic figure in Irish history.
The production uses film footage shot in Wicklow, The Curragh and Hook Head to compliment the on stage action, and moves the story along at break neck speed. The dance is “dramatic”, the singing “emotive”, the acting “unsettling”, the story “realistic”, moving from pagan Ireland through to Christian Ireland.
